Wacam Sensitises Chiefs and Traditional Leaders of Patrensa on Mining Law

The Chief and elders of Patrensa community in the Asante Akyem Agogo Traditional Area were engaged by Wacam in a days’ workshop to sensitise them on their rights as earmarked mining communities and on the provisions of the Minerals and Mining Law, Act 703, 2006.

This community engagement was held to get the leaders of the community informed on provisions of the mining law before engaging Owere mines and Environmental Protection Agency on proposed mining activities. Discussions at the meeting centred on the community rights in decision-making processes on the mining activities and the regulations on compensation and resettlement.
